University of Portsmouth
Portfolio of Work:
Since starting my journey at Portsmouth University, I have had the opportunity to learn new skills and editing techniques, but also had many opertunities to work on some incredible projects alongside some great people. This page showcases what I have achieved and the progress I have made. I’ve always jumped at the chance to gain experience in different roles and collaborate with a variety of creative-minded professionals. Please review my work below and get in touch if you would like additional information or the opportunity to work with me.
Group Sound Project
Avatar Animation Video
Part of the Sound for Moving Image Module, where as a group, we were tasked to create a soundtrack to piece of media of our choice. We collectively chose Avatar, and my focus was on the sound effects, and the voice over parts of the soundtrack. The group then put these together to create our final piece.
Brandi Jones
Two-Hander Assignment
Part of the Film Craft Module, where as a group, we were tasked to create and edit a dialogue scene between two characters. As a group, we decided on a Film Noir/Police Interogation Sequence between a police officer and the suspect. The piece was then edited by another member of the group, who was on my course.
Individual Sound Project
Watermelon animation video
Part of the Sound for Moving Image Module, where I was tasked to create a soundtrack by myself. After approval from my teacher, I chose the Watermelon video, as this was an interesting animation and would give me lots of scope for sound design and editing. I created the main sound by using Logic Pro, and recorded the vocalisations myself and edited them in Audition, the rest of the sounds I sourced online, editing these also in Audition, and combining the main soundtrack to create the final project.
Digital Visual Effects Showreel
After Effects
Part of the Introduction to Digital Visual Effects Module, where everyone had to showcase the skills they learnt across the year and the module as a whole in a showcase and edited together with music. We also had to include a minimum of 4 different effects as shown in the video. This was one of my favourite assignments to complete due to the different elements and effects that I learnt and included but also the way I edited the showreel too.
VFX Compositing Showreel
NukeX
Part of the Introduction to Compositing Module, where everyone had to showcase their compositing skills they learnt in NukeX by including 2 workshop activities that we completed in class, as well as a magic illusion shot that had be done using NukeX too. This module was tricky to get used to it at first, due to it being node-based software, but I ended up figuring it out and finding really enjoyable towards the end.
Project 55
Group Title Sequence
Part of the Film Craft Module, where as a group we had to pitch and create an opening title sequence. We designed our own brief, taking inspiration from the sci-fi genre. We then added to the parts we shot by After Effects, and was edited by another member of my group, who was on my course to create the final project.
